Who May Participate

Due to heavy registration, registration for the Transfer Community at Porter College is now closed. We apologize, but we will not be able to accommodate any additional members of the Transfer Community at Porter College or any non-affiliates of Porter College to participate in our ceremony. We are very sorry, but the ceremony venue cannot accommodate all of the Porter Affiliates, members of the Transfer Community at Porter who have registered and their guests and families.
Any Porter College affiliate, or Member of the Transfer Community at Porter College, who is a senior may participate in the Commencement ceremony. Whether you officially graduate Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, or if you still have to complete your thesis or orals, or if you just didn't get your "Announcement of Candidacy"filed, you may still participate in the event. However, only those students who have completed all paperwork and are recognized by the Registrar’s Office as having done so will find their names automatically in the program. Any students who have filed NRI (non-release of information) cannot have their names printed in the program without written permission from the student or change of the students NRI status, please see http://reg.ucsc.edu/faqs/pdf/How_to_Update_Privacy_Settings.pdf. Participants will be listed with the quarter they intend to graduate.
Caps and Gowns are not required, but most students choose to wear cap and gown. Commencement attire and Commencement announcements will be available through Bay Tree Bookstore. The "Grad Center" at the Bay Tree Bookstore will be open beginning April 17.
