Spring 2013 Slug Shuttle

In cooperation with members of the SUA’s Office of IVC, TAPS is pleased to again offer the Slug Shuttle, an end-of-the-quarter transit service transporting UCSC students from the Quarry Plaza to two popular end-of-the-quarter destinations: the Diridon CalTrain Station in San Jose, and the Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC).

This pilot program will provide limited shuttle service four times a day (at 7:30am, 11am, 2pm and 5:30pm) on Thursday March 21st and Friday March 22nd, and twice (at 10am and 1pm) on Saturday March 23rd. And, for the first time, TAPS will also offer two Slug Shuttle Return Service trips from San Jose Airport to UCSC on Sunday March 31st at 12 noon and 6pm. Best of all, the cost to ride is free!

Please be aware of the following terms and conditions before making your reservation:

  • San Jose International’s Terminal B serves both Southwest and Alaska Airlines, while Terminal A serves all other airlines.

  • Luggage is limited to one suitcase and one duffel-sized carry-on bag per person.

  • Passengers should meet their bus at Quarry Plaza at least 20 minutes before their departure time to check-in with an SUA volunteer or TAPS staff person.

  • Be sure to give yourself ample travel time when reserving your trip. Under normal conditions, the Slug Shuttle should arrive at your destination in approximately one hour. However, Highway 17 travelers often experience delays associated with road construction, accidents, traffic congestion, and severe weather conditions. The driver, TAPS, and UCSC will not be held responsible financially and/or otherwise for passengers missing flights due to unforeseen circumstances.
