Porter/Kresge Dining Hall

The newly renovated Porter/Kresge Dining Hall is open. Please enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday through Friday with brunch and dinner on weekends and holidays. Check here for the current hours of operation.  While you'll probably eat most of your meals at the Porter/Kresge Dining Hall, there may be times when you find it inconvenient to return to Porter for some meals. There are dining halls located at Cowell, Stevenson, Crown, Merrill, Porter, College Eight, College Nine/Ten, and downtown at the UCSC Inn. Your ID card is your "key" to each of these facilities, as well as a few on-campus eateries.

The dining halls are set up food court style, offering a wide selection of entrees, soups, extensive salad bar, beverages, and home-made desserts. There are always vegetarian/vegan options, as well as some organic offerings. Being dedicated to issues of sustainability, they always offer both vegan and vegetarian entrees and have many organic and locally-grown options. Popular menu items include chili verde, fresh desert crepes, chicken and dumplings, vegan apple pancakes and our daily taqueria specials. Overall, the offerings are well balanced, well prepared, and reasonably varied.

Porter Slug Cafe and Grill

The Porter Slug Cafe and Grill is Porter's own local coffee shop. The newly renovated Porter Slug Cafe and Grill is open and these are the current hours of operation. From coffee drinks and pastries, to burgers and burritos to salads and veggie fare, this is always a popular location for our students.
