Welcome back to Porter!

We hope that you enjoyed your break from studies and are ready to begin the new quarter. Before you get too involved in your classes, there are a few things that you should take care of now.

Check your grades: If you haven't looked at your grades for the past quarter, view them on my.ucsc.edu portal under "My Student Center" go to "more links" and select grades. Check your grades carefully and meet with a Porter adviser for questions or concerns.

Check your current enrollment: Double check your current class enrollments for accuracy, meeting times and dates.  Confirm grading options (graded or Pass/No Pass).  If you are not fully enrolled, meet with a Porter Adviser asap! You are responsible for the accuracy of your enrollments.

Check your degree progress:  View your Academic Advisement Report, in "My Student Center," go to "more links," and choose “Academic Advisement Report" from the drop-down menu. You can view your degree audit for general education and major requirements.  If you have questions about the Academic Advisement Report, refer to the tutorial at http://advising.ucsc.edu/student/degreeaudit/index.html or meet with an adviser.

Expecting transfer credits?: If you took classes away from UCSC, and had official transcripts sent to the Office of the Registrar, view them in your "My Student Center," go to "more links," and choose the “Transfer Credit Report" from the drop-down menu.  Follow-up with a college adviser if your transfer credits are not credited by the following quarter.

Seniors: Seniors (135+ credits): Check in with your major adviser(s) about any major requirements, and also with a Porter adviser about other graduation requirements. To receive your official degree (and diploma), you must “Apply for Graduation in your MyStudent Center. Apply for graduation for the quarter in which you will complete all degree requirements, and by the deadline (check Academic Calendar for deadlines). To participate in the Porter College Commencement ceremony (optional but encouraged!), go to the Porter College Commencement page and complete the registration form by the stated deadline.
